Day #21

OMG!!! We added fresh pineapple to the usual concoction and it was DELICIOUS! Try it, you will like it!

  1. I'm enjoying my smoothie for dinner tonight. Ingredients: OJ, Mango, raspberries, yogurt, rice protein powder, a big handful of that purple lettuce I picked up at the Farmer's Market and a handful of carrot greens. Wonderful!

To answer your question of yesterday, incorporating the green smoothie into my day has been no problem, and yes, I will continue.

I have talked to several people about green smoothies and am thinking it's a readiness issue. Perhaps when we start our next 40 days will be a good time to recruit :)

  2. I will definitely be continuing on my green smoothie quest once the 40 days is up. i love it, and feel healthier and happier than usual. Although, lately i've been making a few 'brown' smoothies...that's just the way they have turned out. No biggie to me though...i love em either way! i brought a few bottles with me to a family reunion last weekend, and to my suprise...many family members wanted to try it. So we sat around the fire and passed green smoothie bottles, (and bottles of beer-funny combination) around and shared them. Most were receptive, and i even gave out a few recipes. NICE!!!

Today's smoothie is another brown one...but here's the recipe for those interested:

    3/4 blender full of spinach
    2 large cabbage leaves
    handful of frozen blueberries
    handful fresh raspberries
    2scoops vanilla whey protein powder
    1/4 cup plain dannon yogurt
    splash bolthouse farms vitamin-c juice
    water to consistency

    YUMMMMMMMY!!!

i am going to do some investigating on pea greens next. i have seen them in the asian grocery in minneapolis, and have a bunch i haven't pulled from the garden yet...those will be my next addition if they are edible! USE EVERYTHING!!! Yaaay....

  3. I hadn't even thought about cabbage! Thanks for the recipe Sweet Little Flower - I don't mind brown smoothies either :)
