Day #28

Returned to juice today and tried the beet greens. Very good. Of course, I do not stuff the greens in like some of you do so I think anything would taste good. Has anyone put honey in their smoothies?

  1. Yes - Cub ran out of the honey yogurt so I've been adding honey to the plain - probably just under a tablespoon. Very good.

I'm back from the Blues Fest and can't believe we're on day #28! I continue to roll with this challenge with ease.

This morning I ran out of time so grabbed my cherished standby of OJ/Mango juice with barley powder. So good but not as filling as my smoothies - I was looking for food by 11 am. But it's green and quick.

I too am looking forward to using adding Colorado peaches to my smoothies!

  2. Well another mission to my second garden plot has me cleaning Rutabega greens (yes, they too are edible). So those will be going into my blender today with some Kale, and a bunch of mini bananas that i need to use up. A handfull of blueberries (wild picked), a splash of home cultured kefir, and a scooop of protein powder should do it. I'll let you know....
i am so pleased at the fact that just about everything i have planted this season has some type of 'blendable' green. i don't know how successful i would have been at cooking all of these greens or eating them in salads...so this is perfect. I am so happy.
