Day #26

This morning I had a delightful smoothie that a friend made. It was tasty! It was a bit strange not to get up and concoct my own...but mostly it was a treat!
Peaches arrive from Colorado this week...MMMMM good!

  1. I have experienced various changes since the smoothie challenge began. i notice/pay attention more closely to what i put into my body. I have found that i feel fabulous both physically and mentally from the smoothies. it is pure NOURISHMENT....whereas, many things we come into contact with or consume do not hold up to that standard. I have also made some fun health conscious friends which is refreshing and enlightening.(everyone has so much great information/recipes/experience to share!! i love it!!).
The smoothie challenge has also helped me to try to live a more yogic life as well...it reminds me of how simple and sweet things can be in their purest form....

And one final and funny thing that i have gained from this is that....there aren't many things i won't 'try' to blend!!!

Having said this, i give you my latest concoction(with the pea greens from the garden-yaaay)

Note: i pulled all of the pea greens from the garden, and removed all of the leaves--they(whomever 'they' are) say that you cna use the young tendrils and leaves for consumption, but i found that the stock part was too woody for me...so leaves only for the smoothie.

    1/2 Blender pea green leaves
1/4 more of blender with fresh red lettuce
    1scoop vanilla whey protein powder
    8 oz. flat-ish kombucha
    1/2 c. fresh blackberries
    3/4 c. frozen strawberries
    1 c. home cultured kefir.

    water to consistency.

Please remember that my smoothies are a bit on the thick side so adjust as you see fit.

    Enjoy!!

ps. i made the granola bars....WOW!! YUMMY!! Though i wanted to eat the whole pan at once (so i will have to limit making these...but they have made the 'staple' items to make list for sure~!!!
