Day #6 cont.

I did have my green smoothie for dinner about 3 hours ago. It didn't stick with me like it does in the AM. I was starved when I got home at 8:15. I fixed myself a large salad with feta cheese and assorted nuts. My brain is starting to feel less fuzzy already. I think I will stick to the smoothie breakfast. What have your experiences been?

  1. The protein powder is a very welcome addition to my morning smoothie!

For me, behavior change is all about the ease in which it can be integrated into my life. Until I can do some reading about the shelf-life of my homemade juices, I'll continue to use high quality store bought juice during the week. This makes preparing my smoothie so easy and the OJ, vanilla yogurt, spinach and now protein powder combo is so yummy, there's no reason not to enjoy one.

I'll let you know if the protein powder helps my smoothie stick with me farther into the day. I've only had my smoothie once for dinner and it did hold me to bedtime.

    Thanks!

  2. i had a green smoothie for lunch yesterday and it was great! i actually went out to lunch with a friend and i brought it with me and drank it while they ate lunch. It stuck with me until dinner...which was great. I think i am going to try to have it for lunches...it would be super easy to grab one for work each day. I'll include the recipe of the first one i tried (with random ingredients from the fridge).

1/2 blender packed full of spinach
    1/2 blender of strawberries
    2 apricots (seed removed)
splash of bolthouse farms 100% carrot juice
splash of bolthouse farms c-boost juice
    water to desired consistency.

This made enough for 3 (kombucha bottles) worth of smoothie.
It was yummy and a deep red color-it lasted for 3 days in the cooler while camping!!

Today, i am going for more greens in my smoothie and a few nuts. We'll see how it goes.
